Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is rooted in the belief that children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and motivated to explore. It is designed to support every child to develop a strong sense of self, a love of learning, and the emotional and social skills needed to thrive. Through meaningful play, rich interactions, and carefully planned experiences, we nurture confident, resilient, and independent learners who are curious about the world around them.
Our curriculum is designed to nurture:
• A positive sense of self, where children feel valued, capable, and proud of who they are
• Inquisitive minds, encouraging curiosity, questioning, and a desire to explore the world
• Confidence and resilience, enabling children to take risks, persevere, and learn from challenges
• Independence and responsibility, supporting children to make choices and care for themselves and others
• Emotional intelligence, helping children recognise, express, and manage their feelings and build positive relationships
• A love of books and reading, fostering enjoyment of stories, language, and early literacy from the very start
We implement our curriculum through:
• High-quality adult–child interactions that model language, emotional regulation, and problem-solving
• Play-based learning enhanced by purposeful planning and responsive teaching
• Environments that promote independence, curiosity, and choice
• Consistent routines that build security, confidence, and self-regulation
• Inclusive practice that recognises each child’s starting point and supports progress for all
As a result of our curriculum, children :
• Feel confident, secure, and positive about themselves
• Show curiosity, engagement, and sustained interest in learning
• Demonstrate resilience and perseverance when faced with challenge
• Act independently and take responsibility appropriate to their age/stage of development
• Build strong relationships and manage their emotions effectively
• Develop a genuine enjoyment of books, stories, and early reading
Children leave our setting happy, motivated, and ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
